Rupbeart is a native Athlonian. He grew up in a typical Irish bear's lair near a little village called Kiltoom, just northwest of Athlone proper. Having just finished his A-level exams and moved out of his parent's lair, he shares a flat with the Lightholders in the center of old Athlone town, in the shadow of the Athlone castle and just a block from the riverbank.

Rupbeart works part-time at a local internet cafe. He enjoys the occasional session with his mates down at the local, boating on the lakes and just walking through town along the Shannon river. He plays the Bodrahn (Irish drum), but tends to be a bit shy about it (Kim seems to be the only person who can persuade him to do it in public).

He's very excited about visiting California one day and possibly meeting a cute young grizzly.
